Westminster tutor crowned Law Teacher of the Year

A tutor from the University of Westminster has been named the Law Teacher of the Year 2016.

The shortlisted teachers were judged on how well they engage, motivate and inspire students, their commitment to the development and support of their students, and how they used their research to enhance students’ learning.

Professor Lisa Webley was handed the award by Oxford University Press after judges were impressed by the way she interweaves skills education with her teaching.

The other finalists were Jo Boylan-Kemp of Nottingham Trent University; Steve Evans of Leicester; Lucinda Ferguson of Oxford; Yvonne McDermott Rees of Bangor and Sheffield Hallam’s Jennifer Sloan.

The winner last year was UCL’s Professor Jane Holder, while Surrey’s Luke Mason took the crown in 2014.
