Wragge & Co’s retention rises

Wragge & Co will keep on 75 per cent of its spring 2014 qualifying trainees.

The Birmingham-headquartered firm, which is shortly to merge with Lawrence Graham, will retain six of eight newly-qualified (NQ) solicitors.

The six NQs will join the commercial litigation; corporate; government and infrastructure; public law; and real estate departments.

Wragges stated that the two NQs not staying upon qualification are leaving because there are no roles available in their preferred teams.

The rate is an improvement on the 69 per cent retention of last autumn, when the firm kept 11 of 16 qualifiers on.

Graduate recruitment manager Chloe Lloyd said:  “We are delighted the six NQs are taking up positions at the firm. They are a focused, committed and driven group of individuals who have a bright law career ahead of them. We wish those who are leaving the firm all the very best in their future career.”
