Minster Law partners with ILEX to launch in-house training academy

Minster Law is the latest firm to join with ILEX Tutorial College (ITC) to offer training courses to legal staff at all levels in the firm.

The partnership will offer non-legal staff legal training within Minster’s new in-house academy, giving the opportunity for around 20 people to earn while they learn.

HR director Andrea Preston said: “Minster Law is experiencing extensive growth and we’re keen to develop our people so we continue to deliver an excellent client and legal service. Our ILEX academy allows us to do just that.”

The new scheme has attracted a mixture of legal assistants and fee-earners. The less experienced employees have embarked on their initial training on ILEX Level 3, while their more advanced colleagues will begin Level 6 training imminently.

A tutor from ITC will attend the firm each month, together with the firm running a study group and providing study support.

The personal injury practice follows in Irwin Mitchell’s footsteps, after the top 20 firm joined forces with ITC and the College of Law earlier this year (1 June 2011).

The news follows the Institute of Legal Executives joining forces with Pinsent Masons in its new legal apprenticeship scheme that kicked off last month (27 September 2011).
