Mills & Reeve will keep on 14 of its 16 second-year trainees in newly qualified (NQ) roles this autumn.
The firm made offers to 14, with all accepting, giving the firm an 87.5 per cent retention rate for this year. None are on fixed-term contracts.
An East Anglian firm by heritage, seven of the NQs will be based in Mills & Reeve’s Cambridge headquarters, while four will work in Norwich. The other three will be based in the Birmingham office.
The corporate/commercial group will take the most NQs, with four. Real estate will take three, and the family and commercial disputes teams two each. The construction, education and IP litigation teams will all take one NQ.
Retention has remained realtively stable at Mills & Reeve over the past six years, with the exception of a blip in 2011.
