Hogan Lovells posts retention, sending most NQs to litigation and employment

Hogan Lovells has revealed a 77 per cent retention rate for its autumn 2014 qualifiers, employing 27 of 35 trainees in newly-qualified (NQ) positions. 

Of the 35 qualifiers, 32 applied for roles with the firm.

The rate is a slight improvement on the City firm’s performance last autumn, when it kept on 76 per cent, or 25 of 33, trainees in NQ roles. Its spring retention rate of 78 per cent or 25 out of 32 trainees, was similar (7 February 2014).

This season, Hogan Lovells will send 12 NQs to its arbitration, litigation and employment teams, 10 to its corporate team and three to finance. The remaining two will join the competition team.

Fellow City firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced that it would retain 77 per cent of its cohort yesterday, with 17 of 22 qualifiers joining the firm (26 August 2014).
