CMS Cameron McKenna and Hogan Lovells have revealed their retention rates for their spring 2014 qualifying trainees.
CMS has 28 trainees reaching qualification, and 22 will stay on at the firm as NQs, a 78.5 per cent retention rate. Eight will work in the commercial regulatory and disputes department while four will head to the corporate department, four will work in the energy, projects and construction department and another four will sit in the technology practice. Three NQs will work in real estate, two in capital markets, another two in banking and finance, while one NQ will sit in the human capital practice.
The remaining trainee will take up a role in the insolvency and restructuring group in the firm’s Bristol office.
Meanwhile, Hogan Lovells will keep on 78 per cent of trainees in NQ positions. The firm had 32 qualifying trainees, 31 of whom applied for NQ roles. Of those, 25 have been retained.
Nine NQs will work in the corporate department, six will head to the litigation, arbitration and employment practice and another six will go to the finance department. Two NQs will go to the competition team, one to the IP department, with the final one joining the Paris finance department.
