Burges Salmon has become the latest firm to move in to the world of social networking by rolling out a dedicated graduate recruitment Facebook page.
The new page is hoped to attract potential future trainees and provide top tips for applications, as well as question and answer sessions with its current trainee solicitors and recruitment partners.
Graduate recruitment officer Natalie Colton said: “We have chosen to set up a Facebook page to allow us to have more of a conversation with candidates interested in finding out about a career at Burges Salmon.
“We’re not trying to replicate our website but provide a more interactive space to promote events and provide information about life at the firm.”
The news comes despite a recent survey by Lawyer2B, in association with BPP Law School, that revealed that more than half of students surveyed want employers to stay out of Facebook and Twitter (1 December 2011).
The move is part of the Bristol-based firm’s revamped graduate recruitment campaign that looks to take the emphasis off comparisons to London and focus on the firm’s national reach (20 October 2011).
