Shoosmiths aids charity drive

National law firm Shoosmithslet homelessness charity Shelter share its stand at law fairs across the country to support its Now is the Time campaign.

The charity used the stand to get students to sign up to its latest petition which calls on the Government to end the UKs housing crisis by building more affordable homes.

But instead of putting pen to paper students were snapped holding up a sign showing the exact date and time they pledged their support to the petition.

Shoosmiths trainee Bhavika Dusara, one of 460 staff to have already signed up to the campaign, said: Having people take pictures created a real stir at the events and students were genuinely interested in signing up to the campaign. I think it was great way for Shelter to spread its message to students all over the country.

The charity launched the campaign with ‘Breaking Point’, a new report which revealed the desperate sacrifices people are making to keep a roof over their heads, including spending less on food, selling possessions, borrowing from friends and family.

Shelter is Shoosmiths charity of the year.
