Lawyer2B.com’s cheeky night out

Come and smile dont be shy, Touch my bum this is life, we sung cheerfully as we waited in the blistering cold for a taxi. No – we werent trying to bag a reduced fare in light of the credit crunch. In fact we were hob nobbing with The Cheeky Girls at the annual City GoalBall (CGB) competition, organised by Addleshaw Goddard.

The Transylvanian pop duo added some much-needed heat to the evening, which saw 16 teams including law firms Pinsent Masons, SJ Berwin and Simmons & Simmons go head-to-head in a GoalBall tournament in Londons trendy Spitalfields Market.

The cheeky hitmakers, who are ambassadors for the Royal London Society For The Blind, got more than a few admiring glances as they got on all fours clad in micro mini-skirts and knee-high boots to particiapte in the challenge.

The non-contact game for partially sighted athletes is played in silent with two teams of three trying to score goals against the other while navigating a ball with bells in it.

Addleshaws organised the event alongside London Sports Forum for Disabled People (LSF) to publicise the sport as something that can be played by both disabled and able bodied athletes.

And twin sisters Monica and Gabriela Irimia knew just how to get people to sit up and notice – by purposefully wearing skimpy outfits to play the sport.

The pairs tactics also seemed to spread to the GoalBall pitch as they beat off stiff competition from Team GB in their test match.

Addleshaws trainee RoxଠStrommer took part in the event and was thrilled to see the Cheeky Girls really get involved.

She said: There was a cheeky twist involved all with the aim of raising awareness for the sport, and the girls were really down to earth and fun and it was apparent that they fully supported Goalball.
