LPC exam error exposed at BPP
BPP Law School (BPP) has come under fire after students suffered a blunder in one of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) papers.
BPP’s Birmingham centre distributed the wrong 50-page lease document in the Advanced Commercial Property exam, which students had been required to use as part of their exam preparation. The mistake was rectified after an hour into the exam time.
In a statement a BPP spokesperson said: “Following the start of the LPC Advanced Commercial Property Exam a tutor present discovered that the incorrect document had been issued. This affected 7 examinees, and impacted 2 of the questions.
“BPP apologised unreservedly for this unacceptable error, and has taken steps to ensure that this will not be repeated.”
The spokesperson added that the students were given an additional half hour to complete the exam.
The news follows College of Law (CoL) students being supplied the wrong information in the Commercial Dispute Resolution (CDR) paper which took place last week at the law school giant (15 June 2012).
In a statement a CoL spokesperson said: “A full report will be made to the examination board and external examiners, which will recommend any steps which may be necessary to ensure that no student will be prejudiced by it.”

Not really news, is it? I'm sure the College of Law CDR students would be a lot happier if their exam had been sorted out in this way.

This happened in nearly exam when I did the LPC in Plymouth!

I had one of these in my family 2 paper, you ended up advising a dead client! Most of us realised and commented in the paper and we got through but Oldham College had generally poor staff anyway so we qualified despite not becasue of our tutors.

Do you mean one or all papers at Plymouth? They are one of my potential LPC choices next year so if something is wrong with their exams please give me some details?
