Trowers & Hamlins records good spring retention

Trowers & Hamlins had retained 86 per cent of its trainees due to qualify in spring 2018

Six out of its seven final-seaters will take up newly-qualified roles with the firm, across the commercial property, corporate commercial, projects/construction, and real estate teams.

Three of the qualifiers will be based in the firm’s London office, with two in Manchester and one in Exeter.

Elsewhere, Mayer Brown has kept on all four of its qualifiers. Two join the litigation team, one goes to corporate and one to tax.

Mayer Brown training principal Will Glassey said: “Congratulations to our trainees on qualifying, which is testament to the hard work they have put in during their training. We are very happy that they are set to continue here in permanent roles, and we wish them all the best in their burgeoning careers at the firm. The retention rate this year underlines our commitment to investment in training, as well as our strong track record of nurturing home-grown talent.”

The two firms are the first to reveal their trainee retention figures for this spring.
