Watson Farley & Memery Crystal post 2012 NQ retention rates

Watson Farley & Williams has revealed it is keeping 83 per cent of its qualifying trainee solicitors.

The firm has announced it is retaining 10 out of 12 of its September 2012 newly qualified (NQ) trainees, after 10 chose to apply for roles at the firm.

The result is a slight improvement from Watson Farley’s qualification round in September 2011, when the firm posted a 77 per cent NQ retention rate after holding onto 10 out of a 13-strong cohort.

Elsewhere, Memery Crystal is retaining three out of five of its qualifying trainees afyer making three offers, giving it a 60 per cent NQ retention rate.

The news follows Bird & Bird, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Field Fisher Waterhouse revealing retention rates of 92, 89 and 85 per cent respectively.
