Taylor Wessing NQ retention rises to 86 per cent

Taylor Wessing has retained 86 per cent of its September 2012 qualifying trainee solicitors.

The firm is keeping 19 out of 22 of its newly qualified (NQ) lawyers, an increase on the 79 per cent retention rate achieved in the previous two years.

In September 2011, 15 out of 19 trainees accepted NQ positions at the firm.

Tim Worden, graduate recruitment partner, said “It’s always exciting to see the next generation of lawyers progressing onto the next stage of their careers and we look forward to helping them achieve their full potential in the coming years.”

The news follows Hogan Lovells and Simmons & Simmons revealing NQ retention rates for September 2012 of 73 per cent and 89 per cent respectively.

Of the top twenty firms, only Eversheds and Clyde & Co have yet to release their figures.
