US giant Sullivan & Cromwell will expand its London trainee intake by 50 per cent after recruiting its first intakes last year.
The firm hired four trainees who started their training contracts last September and are due to qualify in September 2015. Another four trainees started this September.
Sullivan & Cromwell has now revealed that it has hired six trainees to start in September 2016 and qualify in 2018.
Because its first intake of trainees are yet to qualify, the firm does not have any retention statistics to demonstrate the success of its trainee programme but stated that its trainees had “settled into the London office exceptionally well.”
Training partner Ben Perry added: “Sullivan & Cromwell has increased its intake numbers in response to the success of our current trainees and the quality of the applications received, as well as the continued growth of practice in all areas.”
