SRA warns of scam emails offering LPC funding

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has warned law graduates of scam emails, purporting to offer partial funding for the legal practice course (LPC).

The emails are sent from the email address and are signed by Matthew Mccormak who claims to be a consultant solicitor at True Personal Injury Solicitors.

The emails ask recipients to provide details about the LPC they’ve enrolled on, before claiming that True Personal Injury Solicitors is a government body which can provide course funding for the LPC.

The SRA has stated that it does not authorise a firm with the name True Personal Injury Solicitors, not to be confused with genuine firm True Solicitors in Newcastle, or an individual called Matthew Mccormak.

The SRA has included details of the scam and advice on what recipients of the emails should do on the scam alerts page of its website.
