Should I enrol on a Master’s?

I’ve heard LLMs are viewed negatively by some law firm graduate recruitment teams so should I turn my offer down and go travelling instead?

I’ve been accepted on an LLM course starting in September. I’m thinking about doing it because it’s specialising in shipping law, which is an area I eventually want to qualify into. Also, I think it’s a good way to spend a gap year as I haven’t managed to get a training contract. However, the only reservation I have is that I’ve heard LLMs are viewed negatively by some law firm graduate recruitment teams. Should I therefore turn my offer down and go travelling instead? Any thoughts will be welcome.
