Pinsents posts increased retention

Pinsent Masons has revealed a retention rate of 84 per cent.

The top 20 firm will keep on 57 of its 68 qualifying trainees in a newly-qualified (NQ) capacity, including those in its Beijing and Hong Kong offices. Last autumn, Pinsent Masons retained 73 per cent of its qualifiers, holding onto 54 of 74.

Deborah McCormack, senior learning and recruitment manager, said: “It is a sign of the confidence in our business that we have been able to achieve a retention rate of over 80% in what remains a challenging and uncertain market. We were particularly pleased to be able to offer places to both of our trainees in Asia Pacific, which is further evidence of the strong growth of our practice in the region.”

Earlier today, Irwin Mitchell revealed a retention rate of 80 per cent, stating that it would keep on 36 of 45 trainees in an NQ roles. Eversheds also announced its retention rate today. The firm will retain 84.5 per cent, or 38 of 45, of its qualifying trainees.
