Norton Rose strikes deal with UAE uni

Norton Rose has teamed up with the United Arab Emirates University to design a four-week lecture series in a bid to attract some of the area’s top legal talent.

The top ten City law firm has struck a deal with the university’s faculty of law to provide would-be lawyers, who are UAE nationals, with training on technical legal skills, English legal language, compliance as well as CV and interview workshops.

As part of the scheme, Norton Rose will also be offering a select number of the Middle Eastern students the chance gain work experience at either its London office or other international bases.

In addition to the internship programme, Norton Rose will be visiting the university to give skills workshops, guest lectures and run case studies.

The news comes after Herbert Smith announced that it had teamed up with Oxford University to run a training programme at the National Law School of India University, in Bangalore (see story).
