Linklaters is calling students to help shape its groundbreaking work experience scheme the firm is rolling out exclusively for freshers.
The magic circle firm plans to give away £200 STA Travel vouchers to the would-be lawyer with the best ideas for the two-day Insight Programme, which is set to run twice in the week commencing 11 April.
Graduate recruitment marketing advisor Victoria Wisson said: “There’s little opportunity for first year law students to gain real meaningful work experience at City Law firms so we’re creating this programme called ‘Pathfinder.”
“Rather than just create a programme we wanted all first year law students to tell us what they want on the scheme, and what will be most beneficial to them.”
Wisson added that Linklaters is keen for everyone to have some input and is therefore targeting fellow ‘twitterers’, putting the link on its website, together with contacting the careers services at 17 top universities.
The City firm’s new graduate recruitment programme has made many innovative leaps this year, by ditching freebies altogether in favour of giving money to charity and with the launch of the ‘Borrow a Brolly’ scheme (15 October).
Linklaters plans to review the students’ ideas in the new year. Applications are set to open 2 January and will close 28 February.
