Leeds, Surrey and UCL lecturers among Law Teacher of the Year finalists

The finalists for Law Teacher of the Year 2015 have been revealed, with six tutors shortlisted for the national prize.

Teachers are judged by their ability to influence and inspire students, commitment to their students, communication and engagement skills and scholarly pursuits which have enhanced the learning experiences of both their students and colleagues.

The six candidates are Bangor University lecturer Ama Eyo, Law Academy and Birkenhead Sixth Form College department head Paula Blakemore, University of Surrey senior lecturer Emily Finch, University College London environmental law professor Jane Holder, University of Ulster acting head of law school Esther McGuiness and University of Leeds associate professor Nick Taylor.

The six will now face campus observations and student and colleague interviews by the judging panel, to determine which teacher will win the award, to be announced in February 2015.
