Do I continue with my law degree route or stay at the firm i’m working at and take the ILEX route instead?
I have a place at university for next year, after deciding to defer my entry to take a year out. I have secured an indefinite paralegal/legal assistant type role at a local law firm for the year – and after talking to colleagues I am thinking I might be more suited to the ILEX route – as I like the idea of earning while I learn.
But after looking at comments it seems the profession still seems to look down on legal executives and I am worried doing this route will damage my future career prospects. Should I do my law degree, LPC and training contract or look to do ILEX? Any advice would be much appreciated!
