Lawyer is fourth most desirable job, says YouGov

Being a lawyer has been found to be the fourth most desirable occupation, in a YouGov survey.

The survey which asked 14,000 British adults which of 31 occupations they would most like to work in, found that 43 per cent of respondents replied that they would like to be a lawyer, although YouGov did not distinguish between being a barrister and a solicitor.

Being an author was ranked as the most coveted occupation, with 60 per cent of respondents saying that they would like to be an author. A librarian was listed as the second most popular (54 per cent) and an academic (51 per cent) as the third.

The least popular roles were a traffic warden (10 per cent), a call centre worker (7 per cent) and a miner (5 per cent).
