Overall, the proportion of respondents in Lawyer 2B’s Stress in Law survey who would never feel comfortable turning work down hovers at around 35 per cent.
Unsurprisingly, first-year trainees feel least comfortable about turning work down, although their confidence appears to jump hugely after their second year.
Lawyers at regional or high-street firms appear most reluctant to turn work down. Some 39 per cent of high-street lawyers would never feel comfortable turning down work, compared to 21 per cent of magic circle lawyers.
