Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is offering students the opportunity to be whisked away to one of its international offices in a two-day workshop.
Successful applicants will get the chance to experience life in the magic circle firm’s Amsterdam office following a day at its London headquarters.
Trainee recruitment partner Simon Johnson said: “Amsterdam’s only an hour or so away from City Airport, but is of course in another country with a different legal system and a different culture,”
“We’ll have some opportunities to socialise as well as the working sessions, and we hope the workshop will give everyone a chance to find out what the international range of the firm really means for the lawyers working here.”
The open days are available for around 12 students from all levels of their undergraduate degree, and will include tours of the London office and talks from trainee solicitors and a commercial case study for the students to take part in at the Amsterdam office.
Freshfields offers secondment opportunities to all its trainees to a number of its offices worldwide including Amsterdam.
Applications for the workshop go live from today (31 January), with a deadline of 18 February. Students will need to submit a CV and cover letter, and those short-listed will have a brief telephone interview.
