Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has added Dubai to its list of potential seat moves for candidates on its summer vacation scheme.
Nineteen students who gain a place on the two-week London vacation scheme will have the opportunity to apply to spend an extra week in one of eight of the firm’s international offices.
The options for 2012 are Brussels, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Madrid, New York, Paris and Washington.
In a statement trainee recruitment partner Simon Johnson said: “We introduced an international dimension to our summer vacation schemes a few years ago to ensure potential applicants have the opportunity to experience every facet of what life at an international law firm like Freshfields is really like. It’s a great opportunity for students to experience the diversity of countries, cultures and people that make up our firm.”
Freshfields’ London office currently runs three sets of two-week vacation schemes.
It reduced its usual vacation offering of three sets of three-weeks for 2012 as a consequence of the Olympics (21 July 2011).
Candidates applying for an international seat as part of the vacation scheme are required to submit a written application outlining their reasons for choosing a particular international office. The additional week must be completed directly after a placement in the London office.
Applications for this summer’s vacation scheme must be submitted by 9 January.
