Eight law firms feature in Sunday Times ‘Best Companies’ rankings

Eight law firms feature in The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies to Work For list, published yesterday.

Mishcon de Reya led the pack in 20th place, down from last year’s 12th, while Baker & McKenzie jumped up the rankings from 46th place in 2013 to 25th this year.

Lewis Silkin placed at number 54, down from 33 in 2013, Mills & Reeve was 66th, a slight drop from last year’s number 57, while Withers dropped seven places from 81 to 88.

Law firms that entered the list for the first time were Kingsley Napley, in 49th place, Withy King at number 58 and Reed Smith in 86th.

Companies were judged on eight categories including leadership, wellbeing, pay and benefits and personal growth.

Baker & McKenzie London office managing partner Paul Rawlinson said: “The results reflect the work we have done over many years to make Baker & McKenzie a great place to work with a high performing and fulfilling, diverse and inclusive culture. We are particularly pleased to have such a strong level of employee engagement, which, from the perspective of a managing partner, is a great platform from which to continue to build.”

North West firm Pannone was the top law firm on the list for many years, but has since stopped entering the annual survey.
