Students have until midday tomorrow to apply for the Law Society’s Diversity Access Scheme (DAS).
DAS offers assistance with Legal Practice Course (LPC) fees to exceptional individuals who face or have overcome exceptional obstacles to qualification as a solicitor.
Obstacles may be of a financial, social, educational or personal nature, or might relate to a disability or chronic health condition that makes the goal of qualifying as a solicitor a particularly challenging one.
The scheme also provides successful applicants with work experience and mentoring opportunities.
Information about those previously helped by the scheme, including a short video, can be found on the Diversity Access Scheme page.
The process for applicants seeking to undertake the LPC in autumn 2013 or January 2014 will close on 29 March 2013 at midday – download the application form here.
Last week it emerged that Nottingham Law School and most of the major providers have hiked LPC fees for next year (20 March 2013).
