DAC Beachcroft reveals high retention, posting 82 per cent rate

DAC Beachcroft will retain 82 per cent of its trainee intake, keeping on 18 of 22 trainees in newly-qualified (NQ) roles.

Five of the trainees will work in the top-30 firm’s Bristol office, one will go to Leeds, nine will be based in London, two will work in Manchester and another one will be based in the firm’s Newcastle office.

The firm also disclosed that one of the new NQs will work in the clinical risk practice area, five will go to the corporate/commercial division and two will work in employment. Three will be based in the global department and another three in the professional and commerical risk practice group while the remaining four will work in real estate.

DAC Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray, said in a statement: “Like any prudent legal business, we fully appreciate how the market has changed but we are also acutely aware that there will always be a place for talented young lawyers. We look forward to welcoming them to the business.”

Last week, US firm Orrick announced that it would retain none of its five autumn-qualifying trainees (16 August 2013). Olswang also revealed a low retention rate of 54 per cent (15 August 2013).
