Beachcroft has launched a mooting competition aimed at helping would-be lawyers increase their chances of breaking into the legal profession.
The national firm has invited teams from universities across Yorkshire and the North East to compete against each other over a six month period, starting from October.
Beachcroft’s regional senior partner in Leeds Glenn Miller said: “It’s becoming increasingly difficult for graduates to enter the legal profession, so we decided to initiate a regional event that could give students an opportunity to boost their CV. When appointing trainees, mooting experience is very highly regarded by law firms as it results in enhanced skills.”
The moots will take place every three weeks and will be judged by barristers and solicitors from the firm, culminating in a grand final where the winning team will receive a week’s work placement as well as the Beachcroft Mooting Shield.
