German firm R㪠& Partner has continued its global sprawl with a new office in Zurich, its 79th office worldwide.
R㪬 a joint legal and tax advisory practice with approximately 280 lawyers, is in the midst of a global expansion that included a launch in Hanoi barely two weeks ago, as first reported by The Lawyer (2 April).
Western Europe head Marcus Felsner said: Germany is still one of the most important trade partners of Switzerland.
For many years R㪠has advised German companies in Switzerland, as well as a number of Swiss companies throughout the world, but we are happy to now have our own presence on the ground there.
Further office openings are planned for Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe in the next 12 months.
The firm has already taken Baker & McKenzies place as the law firm with the largest number of international offices.
Bakers is currently active in 38 countries with only 70 offices, though it employs over 3,400 lawyers.
