After struggling through some red tape, Alexander is now enjoying life as a student lawyer and is also an active member of a handful of student committees.

Alfie Alexander, law student
"I've been welcomed and given great consideration and support since joining the law school," he told Lawyer 2B. "Law is a challenge and to me is most interesting. A good memory and a will to read cases is an essential part of law school. My advice to the elderly is go back to college and keep your brain active - it's one part of the body that is irreplaceable."
As Alexander will be almost 90 when he completes his legal studies, he does not hold out much hope of landing a training contract at a major City firm. However, he encourages other students to work hard. "A law degree is well worth the effort. By studying law you're offering a new spectrum in this crazy world," he said.
"What can I get out of it? Not much, unless there are good opportunities in heaven," he joked. "My philosophy in life, especially since I have gone to university, is mix with young people, think young and act young."
