A part-time law student and mother of triplets has scooped top place in the College of Law’s London LPC results, after scoring an average of 85.17 per cent.
Police officer Emma Gilmour’s score was the highest achieved by any of the 1,400 full and part-time students at the college’s London branch, and was also the third highest out of the 3,400 College of Law students across the country. Gilmour has the added distinction of being the first part-time student to beat a full-time student to the top spot.
Gilmour, who discovered that she was having triplets half-way through the two-year course and had to spend two months in hospital, still managed to commute from Oxford to London for classes twice a week for eight months after the three girls were born.
Gilmour said: “It was a joint family effort and the college was wonderful too.”
