Richards Butler has started recruiting trainees in tandem with US firm Reed Smiths office in London to prepare for the 2007 merger of the two firms.
It has awarded training contracts to 30 young lawyers, 10 more than last years intake of 20. The trainees will start at the merged firm in 2008.
The firm marketed itself to students as Reed Smith Richards Butler for the first time this summer, working with the graduate recruitment team at Reed Smiths London office.
The two firms are currently working together to thrash out the finer details of how the firms 2007 intake of trainees will be spread around the merged firm.
