Trainees in the capital have been finding lurve in the name of charidee.
The London Trainee Solicitors Group recently held its first ever speed dating evening for Cancer Research UK at an event sponsored by recruitment agency Lipson Lloyd Jones.
Playing cupid and organising the event was Annalisa Checchi, the London Trainee Solicitors Groups secretary and a trainee at Gordon Dadds. It proved to be an eventful evening.
Surprisingly, more boys turned up than girls, so some lovelorn lads had to sit out some rounds, while the girls were spoilt for choice. However, the bigger problem for Checchi was that trainees were enjoying themselves so much during their three-minute slots that they refused to move on when the time was up. I had to go around the room shouting at them, recounts Checchi, who was called scary by one of the speed-daters in attendance.
Having said all that, a good time was had by all, 350 was raised for the charity and, Checchi reveals, two trainees from big City law firms are now an item and attended the London Trainee Solicitors Group Ball together.
