Lawyers join 45-mile Thames walk for charity

Lawyers join 45-mile Thames walk for charityThis weekend will see over fifty lawyers trek over forty miles along the Thames to raise money to support pro bono activities with the London Legal Support Trust.

The walk organised by Kings College London law student Jonathan Charwat and sponsored by law firm Mayer Brown will start from Erith Station in Kent at 7.30am on Saturday 14 February and finish at Hampton Court Palace, Surrey on the Sunday.

The London Legal Support Trust is part of a growing network of legal trusts. Founded by pro bono charity LawWorks, it is focused on helping cases in a legal charitable nature. It is part of a trust network that will be enhanced by development of the Access to Justice Foundation.

Teams from Allen & Overy, LawWorks, Southampton University and Taylor Wessing are participating in this brand new event.

Other walks in the country to support legal trusts are planned, including one following a walk last September in Manchester. To join the walk this weekend email the chair of the London Legal Support Trust Bob Nightingale at chair@londonsupporttrust.org.uk.
