Lawyer loses herpes case

A lawyer who took her ex-boyfriend to court for giving her herpes has lost her legal battle.

The 32 year old lawyer said she was tricked into having unprotected sex with Dr Richard Sullivan, a cancer specialist, because he claimed he was an SAS officer and had undergone regular army health check-ups.

The lawyer charged the doctor with causing grevious bodily harm and procuring sexual intercourse by false representation, but the Old Bailey judge dropped the first charge because it was impossible to prove Sullivan had passed on the virus. The second charge was also dropped but the doctor admitted he had lied about being in the SAS.
