Law student wins lottery

Luck was in the air for a wannabe lawyer who scooped a whopping 7m in prize money after playing the EuroMillions lottery.

Ianthe Fullagar, who is currently on a gap year before starting a law degree next year, took a share of a 102m jackpot last Friday (26 September).

The 18-year-old, from Ravenglass, Cumbria, was one of 15 people who won the prize and is now organising a holiday to Egypt and wants to buy herself a black Ford Ka.

Fullagar said she still wants to be a lawyer and set up her own practice.

She said: “At first I thought I had matched three numbers, so I couldn’t believe it when I realised I had the five main numbers plus one Lucky Star.

“My mum called the National Lottery Line and it was only then that I realised I had won a share of the jackpot. We were both screaming so loudly that my dog, Brock, didn’t know what was happening and bit me on the bottom.”

And Fullagar found an unusual hiding place for her winning ticket.

She said: “I didn’t know what to do with my ticket, so after hiding it in my bra and jewellery box, I settled for my gym bag until it was confirmed I was a winner.”
