News of strange things going on at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, reaches the Snail. At the start of a new term, 67 students, including one from the law school, returned to university to face accusations that they were fake. Their pictures had been plastered on a noticeboard accompanied by a message saying the students were fake and would be arrested and handed over to the law enforcement agents for prosecution as appropriate unless they stopped this pretence. It transpires, however, that the students might not be as fake as first thought and rumours abound of shady syndicates drawing in unsuspecting students to commit admission fraud.
At the same university, female student attire has been causing a fuss and the authorities have introduced a dress code which details both suitable and outlawed clothing.
Its a world away from rows over tuition fees, eh?
