College of Law launches business legal advice centre

The College of Law in London has formally opened its legal advice centre for business

Students on the LPC and BVC can now sign up to work on a single case during their academic year, and there is already a great demand for places.

The new centre is also home to the Tribunal Representation Service, where students on the BVC can represent app-licants to the Residential Property Tribunal Service.

Sara Chandler, the centre’s senior supervising solicitor, said: “The educational philosophy of the legal advice centre is that students learn most effectively from the practical experience of working for clients in a realistic and supervised law practice setting.

“The advantage is that there’s time for the students to apply the law and learn best practice without all of the stress and pressures that a full caseload would bring.”
