The parent company of BPP Law School announced flat profits in its interim results, despite a strong performance by the law division. Pre-tax profit at the professional education group for the six months ended 30 June was 5.54m, a marginal decrease on the 5.55m recorded over the same period last year. The law division outperformed its parent company BPP Holdings with turnover up 28 per cent to 10.1m. Turnover for the whole group was 57.6m, up just 3 per cent on last year. BPP Law School chairman Carl Lygo attributed the growth to a huge increase in students taking the LPC part-time and through distance learning.
