Birmingham students advise Afghan nationals

Birmingham students at the College of Law have teamed up with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Immigration Advisory Services to advise Afghan nationals on their rights under the Government’s voluntary repatriation scheme. The pilot pro bono project will be run by 12 students for three months and will be rolled out across other College of Law campuses if successful. Clients will be interviewed by a pair of law students, working under close supervision and with translators, and cases will be referred to the Immigration Advisory Service where required.
