Stephenson Harwood and Travers Smith have announced newly qualified (NQ) retention rates for their March 2012 intakes.
Stephenson Harwood has given five out of six of its final seat trainee solicitors a permanent NQ position.
With 83 per cent of trainees being kept on this is a drop on the 100 per cent NQ retention rate for March 2011, when all five qualifying trainees were given a position at the firm.
Meanwhile, City-based Travers Smith has confirmed a 100 per cent retention rate, keeping all four of its trainees.
This shows a rise from its September 2011 rate of 76 per cent when it kept 13 of its 17 trainees.
