Walker Morris is to send all of its future trainees to BPP, citing the institution’s business acumen as the reason for its choice.
Prospective lawyers for the Leeds-based firm will study both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the university’s Leeds base.
Walker Morris cited BPP’s ‘commercial and client-focused approach’ to both the GDL and LPC programmes as its key reason for entering into an exclusive relationship with the institution.
The news comes one month after magic circle firm Allen & Overy abandoned the University of Law to enter into an exclusive agreement with BPP, under which its trainees will undertake a business-oriented LPC, gaining a business MA at the end of their training contract (16 December 2013).
Walker Morris partner Nick Cannon said: “We are excited about the future relationship with BPP, the education which our trainees will receive and the integration with our firm’s own training programmes.”
BPP Law School dean Peter Crisp added: “Sending all Walker Morris future trainees to study both the GDL and LPC at BPP will provide them with a consistent educational experience and ensure integration between what is covered on the GDL, the LPC and the firm’s internal training programmes.”
