Ashurst has reported a rise in its newly qualified (NQ) retention rate to 83 per cent for its September qualifiers.
The top 20 firm has announced it is keeping 24 of 29 trainees, giving it a retention rate of 83 per cent. However, two of the qualifying trainees decided to not apply for an NQ role at the firm.
That result is a small rise from the 78 per cent retention rate achieved for its spring 2012 qualifiers, but a drop from this point last year, when the firm posted a 93 per cent NQ retention figure.
The news comes after Slaughter and May revealed an 87.5 per cent retention rate (9 July 2012) and SNR Denton revealed an 83 per cent NQ retention rate (28 June 2012).
