Sidley Austin has been named the best law firm to work for as a graduate, according to research conducted by employment review website The Job Crowd.
The US firm was named the 19th best company nationwide to work for, behind companies such as Microsoft, Waitrose and British Airways, with comments such as “colleagues are very approachable and ready to help” from graduates working on “high profile transactions”.
Shoosmiths was placed 40th and South East of England firm Penningtons Solicitors was placed 46th. Graduates comments on these two firms included “inclusive and supportive culture where I am always encouraged to progress in my role” at Shoosmiths and reasonable working hours and sociable offices at Penningtons.
David Raine, Penningtons’ chief executive, said: “we are receiving recognition for the quality of our training, our range of clients, the advice we give, and our work/life balance - these are all things on which we place great emphasis. We have some of the highest calibre graduates working for us, and to know that they are happy with what we can offer to them is fantastic news.”
