London Met rolls out fast-track LPC conversion course

The ‘Barrister to Solicitor LPC’ follows the announcement by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) that Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) graduates may be granted exemption from attendance and assessment in certain areas of the LPC.

Barrister and research fellow at London Met Frances Burton said: “The new course enables talented students to take a proactive approach to moving their careers in the right direction and bringing the added value of their bar backgrounds to finding employment on the other side of the profession.”

The one-year part-time course, which costs £4,900, exempts litigation, advocacy, drafting, practical legal research and two vocational electives from the LPC.

Students wishing to undertake the course, which launches in September 2012, must have completed the BPTC no earlier than five years before enrolling.
