Nottingham Law School (NLS) is in discussion with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Judicial Academy in Vietnam to create a bespoke LLM in legal practice.
The Legal Practice Course (LPC) provider was invited by the MoJ in Vietnam to design the programme to develop skills and knowledge of the country’s lawyers.
Dean of NLS Andrea Nollent said: “Legal education in Vietnam doesn’t currently include a significant amount of legal skills and case analysis.
“The MoJ and lawyers in the country have identified areas for review and we’re working with them to develop a course which will equip lawyers with the skills and commercial knowledge needed in the rapidly growing Vietnamese economy.”
The news follows the law school forming an international partnership with Ghana School of Law to work together on curriculum development (2 March 2012 http://l2b.thelawyer.com/nottingham-law-school-agrees-ghana-link/1011637.article).
As part of the link-up, two scholarships have been awarded to the Ghana School of Law, which halve the fee for the Masters in Law at NLS.
